The Alice Bag Workshop

After an amazing day on our first workshop making the ‘Alice Bag’ I can truly say I’m shattered! Starting off a gentle morning with a cuppa tea we headed straight into cutting the bag pattern from scratch. Piecing the front, base, lining and top fabric together . . . at which point I realised I had given the ladies 9” extra of lining fabric . . . but brilliantly one of ladies came up with the idea of turning the excess fabric into a pocket! And Volia an even more beautiful bag lining was born! We then moved onto stitching the fabric and leather handles into place . . . this is a complicated technique which involves a lot of patience, finger needle stabbing and a healthy amount of swearing .

Sneak Peak: Clutch Bags

This is something to keep an eye out for this summer! 10 Weddings and counting! Currently I am running headlong into wedding season and realised I needed more bags in my life – or at least one for each special occasion! We will be expanding our embroidered bag range, to include a couple of these beauties. In the next few weeks we will be finalising the patterns, photographing the bags and having a few giveaways! We’re excited, I hope you are to! Alice x

Make: Cornwall

We’re really excited to be involved with an amazing book: Make: Cornwall, photographed by Anya Rice and written by Katherine Sorrel. Out later this year, and currently Crowdfunding the project. “Make: Cornwall is a book about the joy of the hand made, the passion and integrity of makers, and the power of a very special place. . . a secret peek into our makers' work spaces (whether a converted barn, garden shed or modern, town-centre studio), their tools and techniques and their making processes, with glorious photos of their finished products and lists of where to see and buy, as well as beautiful portraits of the makers themselves and the landscapes that surround them” We love Cornwall and
